Mnemon is a device that can record humans’ life and feelings. Invented by the MIT media lab, Mnemon's goal is to help people to slow down and embrace the present. Reports showed users become more aware of the small beautiful moments in their life, after wearing this device.

Role: Solo 3D designer at pitch I First-pass animation
Design frames for "Lilo and Stitch" (2025) with the art director Grace Kang and Ed Baker. I was responsible for 3D look development during the pitch stage. After winning the pitch, I also did some first-pass animation for the production. Full details can be found here.

The sequence weaves together three interconnected ideas — a layered photo album, Lilo's sketchbook, and a handcrafted collage — into a unified world. The camera travels through Lilo and Stitch's shared memories, moving across photographs, drawings, scribbles, and scavenged mementos that together document their journey as a found family. The sequence culminates by pulling back to the wide view of the collage, revealing that everything combines to spell out OHANA.

Process
Working from the art director's concept sketches, I deepened the visual world by drawing from the film's details. Revisiting Lilo's room, I incorporated her collections and playful decals to add authenticity and personality to the environment. To ensure the readability of the illustrations, I tested several options for the cardboard paper texture. For lighting, I took inspiration from the film's emotional tone — a heartfelt story of family and belonging — and chose to bathe the scene in soft, natural sunlight, giving the sequence a warm atmosphere. I also set up the white border templates for the photos, ensuring visual consistency across all three photo types throughout the sequence.

Animation
During the production stage, I worked on the first-pass animation for some shots. I received Photoshop files from the cell animators, brought them into After Effects to match the scale of the background elements, and composited all the assets together into the final 3D scene in Cinema 4D.
