Intro
American Beauty is a 1999 American drama movie telling the story of Lester Burnham, a 42-year-old advertising executive who finds a way to free himself from his mundane, loveless existence.
In order to show the emotional conflict that characters encountered, we selected an aggressive color palette. Through the combination of organic handcraft and digital manipulation, we created a world of confusion and loss.
My friends Lucia and Alita made all the papercraft assets, and I composite them in styleframes. Their handcraft gave me endless inspiration throughout the project. Scroll down to see the process.
